About Us

Diamondhead Spartans Football and Cheer Program is a member of the Gulf Coast Youth Football League, which is comprised of some of the most competitive programs on the Mississippi Gulf Coast including: Picayune, DIberville, Stone County, and Saucier.

As a member of the USA Football Association, a nationally recognized standards board, the Spartan program is committed to providing modern training on proper engagement techniques for blocking and tackling that strongly discourages head contact to ensure the safety of our players and minimizes the risk of injury. All Head Coaches are required to complete certification training provided by USA Football, and all other volunteers are required to undergo a background check procedure.

Vision

Diamondhead Spartans Youth Football and Cheer wishes to provide our children with a focused and fun developmental regular season by leveraging small teams to maximize exposure, learning, and play time.

Diamondhead Spartans Youth Football and Cheer will not measure the success of this program based on the number of wins or championships. We will measure our success on the number of kids who come back year after year.

Mission

It is the mission of the Diamondhead Spartans Youth Football and Cheerleading to provide a FUN introduction to football and cheerleading to the youth of Hancock County, Mississippi. Diamondhead Spartans Youth Football and Cheer provides an experience that enriches our youth’s lives by building character, creating life memories, life friendships, strong work ethics, strong social skills, teamwork, communication, discipline, and self-esteem. As a model youth organization in Hancock County, we are striving to become the standard in youth sports and citizenship. 

We strive to accomplish this mission by:

• Leveraging our association with USA Football, football’s national governing body, to ensure that all coaches receive proper training in preventing football related injuries by teaching Heads Up Blocking, Heads Up Tackling, and recognizing the symptoms of Sudden Cardiac Arrest and Concussions.
• Emphasizing overt sportsmanship.
